The Caledonia Ramblers organized a recent hike to Fort George Canyon, located near Prince George, BC. The 10 km round trip route  starts well outside the official park boundaries and descends 215 meters to the Fraser River. Under overcast skies, the group navigated the mixed forest terrain, enjoying the pine, spruce, birch, and poplar stands. Upon arriving at the Fraser river, participants reported having a great time, appreciating the sandy beach, washed gravels and large rock outcroppings along its banks.
