Raven Lake/Grizzly Den Crossover

Description

Located about 100 kms southeast of Prince George, via Highway 16. This attractive area, developed over a number of years, is popular with backcountry skiers, snowshoers and hikers. Crossover trail mid-section is largely in the alpine. 3 cabins on route: 8-Mile, Grizzly Den and Raven Lake.

There a few options for a loop route including turning off the Grizzly Den Trail onto the Leprechaun Ridge Route then descending down into Pat's Pass off the end of the ridge. Another option is to continue along Grizzly Den Trail and up through the meadow passing the Grizzly Den Cabin then ascending into Pat's Pass.  From Pat's Pass you can follow the crossover route (some route finding may be necessary) all the way to the Raven Lake Cabin and back out to the Raven lake Trailhead.  Alternately one can veer off the crossover route and route find their way up to Raven Peak, from there you can either traverse the ridge back down to the Raven lake Trail or head down the route to Raven Lake and the cabin.  Again the crossover route is marked but route finding may be necessary and any off route/trail ventures should only be attempted by those with strong route finding skills.
