The first day of the Grizzly Den overnight trip was very warm, 29 degrees. The new boardwalks through the meadows were very much appreciated. The cabin is very nice with lots of amenities—solar lights, a propane two burner stove, charging ports for electronic devices, and thick mattresses. The stream right near the cabin was dry, but we found water at a pond 400 meters back down the trail. The smoke came in before sunset. It was smoky in the morning, and we continued to have smoky haze most of the second day. We left by way of the crossover to Raven Lake, where some of us relaxed at the lake while others went up to the ridge and back down to rejoin us for the hike down.
